A SAS Case Study
Curtin University, a top‑2% global research institution with about 60,000 students and 7,000 staff across four countries, needed a secure, automated self‑service reporting capability to support academic and operational excellence. The university had to consolidate data from many source systems, track diverse KPIs (from course profitability to assessment quality), ensure academic integrity and governance, and replace time‑consuming manual reporting so staff could focus on higher‑value work.
Curtin built an enterprise data warehouse and deployed SAS Visual Analytics, SAS Grid Manager and SAS Enterprise Guide on a high‑performance cloud platform (AWS) to validate, visualize and secure data. The solution delivers more than 20 self‑service reports and personalized dashboards, lets 500 researchers monitor monthly funding, reduces storage and manual effort (repurposing roughly 10 FTEs), and provides reliable, timely insights that improve decision‑making, compliance and operational efficiency.
