A SAS Case Study
SAS helped Savannah‑Chatham County Schools launch a bold 1‑to‑1 laptop initiative (Laptops for Learning Program) that eliminated traditional textbooks and required free, easy‑to‑use interactive lessons to engage students and support standards‑based instruction. Administrators and teachers faced hurdles around content quality, funding for resources, and shifting classroom practice while trying to boost achievement and student interest.
The district adopted SAS® Curriculum Pathways — a no‑cost, standards‑aligned suite of interactive tools (including Writing Navigator, Planner, Drafter, Reviser and Publisher) that supports differentiated, learner‑centered activities and works from school or home. Results: L4LP students outperformed peers (93% passed ninth‑grade composition and literature vs. 80% for traditional classes), showed higher average grades and passing rates, and reported greater engagement; teachers also extended interactive lessons into other classrooms.
