A SAS Case Study
Bank of Baroda, a global bank operating in 25 countries, faced the challenge of introducing a formal operational risk framework, eliminating slow manual processes for collecting loss-event data (which took three months), and building a risk-aware culture across thousands of employees, departments and branches.
The bank deployed SAS Governance and Compliance Manager across its branches and offices to centralize risk and control data, automate extraction and reporting, and track 31 key risks and 16 KRIs via management dashboards. As a result, loss-event reporting time fell from three months to 15 days (with a target of a few days), enabling more frequent risk assessments, proactive mitigation, consistent standards and stronger governance and customer confidence.
