Lillebaelt Hospital’s Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Vejle faced a resource‑intensive audit process that sampled just 1% of patient records and still found errors in 33% of those reviewed, leaving many registrations—such as secondary diagnoses and treatments—undetected and consuming surgeons’ time.
