1stdibs, the online marketplace for vintage furniture, jewelry, and fine art, faced inconsistent and unstructured new-hire experiences with no scalable onboarding program. To address this, 1stdibs partnered with Sapling, adopting Sapling’s task management, roadmaps and templates to standardize administrative onboarding tasks and give new hires a clear 90-day framework.

Sapling implemented automated workstreams, reminders and a pre-boarding portal (built in four days), and connected with Greenhouse (ATS), Namely (HRIS) and JIRA to streamline IT and HR tasks. The Sapling solution automated 324 onboarding activities per month, enabled 1stdibs to onboard over 40 new hires in five months and saved roughly 600 hours, freeing People Ops to focus on accelerating new-hire success.
