Sapiens Empowers Groundbreaking Launch of the Caribbean's First Fully Digital, Direct-to- Consumer Life Insurer

Republic Life Insurance Company, established in 2021 in Trinidad & Tobago, aimed to become the Caribbean’s first fully digital, direct‑to‑consumer life insurer and sought a next‑generation ecommerce platform to reach underserved customers and simplify the application process without agents. To meet these goals it partnered with Sapiens, deploying Sapiens CoreSuite for Life & Annuities and Sapiens DigitalSuite to provide end‑to‑end policy administration and a customer self‑service portal.

Sapiens delivered a Microsoft Azure‑hosted SaaS solution implemented and tested in just 11 months, enabling point‑of‑sale decisioning and rapid online policy issuance and servicing. The Sapiens platform shortened application‑to‑confirmation timelines to minutes–days, removed the need for agents/commissions and medical exams where applicable, dramatically reduced time‑to‑market for new products, and generated overwhelmingly positive customer feedback—establishing Republic Life as the Caribbean’s first fully digital D2C life insurer.
