Viessmann Climate Solutions, a global provider of sustainable heating, cooling, water, air quality, and renewable energy solutions, faced growing complexity in managing a portfolio of about 3,000 products and 40,000 regionally varied accessories. As the company shifted toward integrated A/C solutions, it needed to simplify its product range, reduce redundancies, and keep delivery times short. Viessmann turned to SAP partner Soley and its Product Mining Solution, alongside SAP S/4HANA, private cloud edition, to support the effort.
Using SAP and Soley, Viessmann streamlined its product portfolio through automated data preparation, dependency analysis, and collaborative decision-making. The company selected 2,000 active products, sent 1,500 to a decision board, discontinued 800 products unanimously, and phased out 500 more after sales alignment. The result was 7-digit annual savings, a 25–30% higher phase-out range, and 87% of recommendations actually phased out.
