A SAP Case Study
The University of Ljubljana, a large publicly funded higher education and research institution in Slovenia, was struggling with more than two dozen legacy IT systems that made finance, accounting, and HR processes slow and difficult to manage. Staff payroll and headcount calculations were especially complex because employees could be assigned across multiple faculties, and the university wanted to modernize operations with SAP S/4HANA.
With SAP S/4HANA, SAP helped the University of Ljubljana unify its systems into one integrated platform with digitalized, real-time processes. The results included staff headcount calculations dropping from one month to seconds, internal procurement shrinking from two to three weeks to one day, and fixed assets inventory management improving from three months to two weeks, while also reducing payroll errors and maintenance costs.
