Transforming Procurement Using SAP Agile Data Preparation

McKesson, a major healthcare corporation and pharmaceutical distributor, faced a significant challenge as manual data management processes burdened its global procurement teams. This slow and error-prone approach, reliant on spreadsheets and email, hindered its ability to effectively analyze supplier data, negotiate contracts, and mitigate risk. To address this, McKesson turned to vendor SAP for a solution.

Using the SAP HANA platform and the SAP Agile Data Preparation application, McKesson automated and centralized its data management. This self-service solution empowered procurement teams to easily view, harmonize, and group global supplier data, which led to securing better contracts and improving supplier relationships. The results were substantial, including a greater than 97% reduction in the time required for data preparation tasks and a 50% reduction in resources needed to manage a major vendor account, ultimately lowering costs and speeding up delivery to its healthcare customers.
