Case Study: Schneider Electric achieves more efficient access risk management with SAP Cloud Identity Access Governance

A SAP Case Study

Transformative workflow routing for optimal risk management

Schneider Electric needed a better way to manage access-related risks across its plants, where more than 60,000 employees were in scope and the right risk owner had to be identified for each request. Working with SAP, the company used SAP Cloud Identity Access Governance as part of its SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition access management process to address the lack of automated workflow routing.

SAP and Schneider Electric implemented a rules-based system that automatically assigns access-risk requests to the correct plant-level owner, with approvals routed through the proper stages. The result was stronger security and compliance, fewer errors, time savings, and more focused approvals; the company also reported a 50% faster process for managing risks and fraudulent activities, with deployment live in Q2 2024 for 1,000+ end users and 9,000+ projected transactions.
