Case Study: Sustainable Development & Water For All achieves faster offline data collection with SAP

A SAP Case Study

Preview of the Sustainable Development & Water For All Case Study

Tackling water scarcity with SDW and Enterprise Automation

Sustainable Development & Water For All (SDW), a Brazilian ESG startup focused on bringing clean water and sanitation to remote communities, faced major challenges collecting and managing field data in areas with little or no internet or phone signal. Before working with SAP, the team struggled with data loss, incomplete offline functionality, and time-consuming rework in Excel and databases, slowing project execution and reducing field efficiency.

In collaboration with SAP, SDW used SAP Build Apps and an API built with Python and Flask to create an offline-capable mobile application that securely stores and synchronizes data with SDW’s database. The solution improved data security and workflow agility, cut family interview time by about 20%, saved around 3 hours per project stage in data processing and dissemination, and reduced field revisit time by roughly 1 day per stage, while increasing the team’s overall project capacity.
