Ontras Gastransport GmbH, a German utilities company, needed a secure way to share maintenance data with external service providers while meeting strict industry requirements and moving away from spreadsheet-based processes. Using SAP Field Service Management, Ontras aimed to improve documentation, transparency, and accountability without disrupting its existing SAP systems.
SAP, working with partner Convista, implemented a solution that let external providers enter maintenance information through a user-friendly app with offline capabilities and smart forms, while enabling internal teams to review everything in SAP. The result was a fully automated and transparent workflow that saved time, sped up logging and revisions, and gave staff a clearer view of maintenance operations across 300 users over an 18-month deployment.
