A SAP Case Study
Farys, a water utility in Belgium, needed to reduce high operating costs and improve the efficiency of its administration and water-meter operations. Working with SAP, it set out to build a cloud-based Smart Water Platform on SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP) to support the rollout and management of digital water meters.
SAP implemented an integrated, future-proof smart metering and energy management solution that connected data, analytics, and processes across the organization. The result was a yearly invoice lead time reduced from weeks to just 1 day, in-house leak detection improved to every 24 hours, and near-real-time monitoring added for water quality and consumption across 2.5 million devices processed daily on SAP BTP.
