A SAP Case Study
Shopin Retail Development Co. Ltd., a department store retailer in China, faced a challenge as its legacy IT systems could not keep up with its expanding business and the shift towards online-to-offline (O2O) shopping. Its fragmented systems led to slow performance, rising IT costs, and an inability to provide a seamless, full-channel customer experience. To reinvent its operations, Shopin engaged vendor SAP to implement its SAP for Retail solutions, including SAP Merchandise and Assortment Planning, SAP ERP, and SAP Business Warehouse.
The SAP implementation provided Shopin with a centralized, integrated platform that unified management of its brick-and-mortar stores, online shop, and mobile terminals. This enabled real-time inventory visibility, consistent online/offline pricing, and single-product management, forming the technical foundation for its innovative WeChat O2O store. As a result, SAP helped Shopin streamline 44 business processes, significantly reduce operational and maintenance costs, improve collaboration with brand partners, and provide a more flexible and convenient shopping experience for its customers.
