Seamless SAP Deployment and successful business integration in just six months

Whitehaven Coal, an Australian mining company, faced the challenge of integrating two newly acquired coal mines and thousands of employees within just six months while keeping operations running smoothly. To do this, it worked with SAP and DXC Technology to deploy a new SAP-based ERP foundation, including RISE with SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition, for finance, payroll, supply chain, HR, and other core processes.

SAP helped Whitehaven Coal complete one of Australia’s largest greenfield ERP implementations in record time, with the full transition finished in six months and no production disruptions. More than 150 applications were transitioned, over 6,000 employees and contractors were onboarded, payroll ran on time for 2,200 new employees, supplier operations continued without interruption, and zero post-go-live data errors were reported.
