A SAP Case Study
Santander Bank, Spain’s largest bank, wanted to launch a new, scalable subscription and rental model for technology devices while improving customer experience with a marketplace-style service and integrating cloud solutions with its legacy banking architecture. The bank also needed to meet strict security and performance requirements for financial services, and chose SAP Commerce Cloud to support the initiative.
SAP implemented a new e-commerce platform based on SAP Commerce Cloud, with a composable storefront and API-driven integration through Apigee. The result was a unified non-financial product offering, end-to-end traceability for rental contracts, reduced supplier communication workload through automation, and more flexible scaling; the launch drove a 50% sales increase, activated more than 1,000 devices in a day, and delivered 99.7% platform availability.
