Case Study: Deutsche Telekom AG achieves strategic savings and customer satisfaction with SAP Procure-to-Pay solutions

A SAP Case Study

Preview of the Deutsche Telekom AG Case Study

Revolutionizing Procure-to-Pay to drive customer satisfaction and strategic savings

Deutsche Telekom AG, Europe’s largest telecommunications provider, needed to modernize its procure-to-pay processes to reduce IT management costs, improve visibility, centralize shared services, and support smarter decisions across a complex global supply chain. Working with SAP, the company used SAP Ariba, SAP Business Network, SAP Business AI, and RISE with SAP to replace manual, inefficient workflows and standardize operations across procurement, invoicing, and payments.

SAP implemented an end-to-end digital P2P transformation that connected systems, automated routine tasks, and enabled real-time analytics and guided buying. The results included more than €1 million in operational savings, a 12% yearly headcount reduction since 2016 while expanding services, 96.26% on-time payments, 92.4% no-touch invoice processing, 100% electronic purchase orders, and faster processing times with purchase orders down to 4.29 hours and invoices to 1.74 hours.
