A SAP Case Study
Walmart Mexico, operating as Walmart de México y Centroamérica, needed a better way to turn fast-growing retail demand into long-term, accountable commercial plans. Its planners were relying on disconnected spreadsheets and scattered data sources, making collaboration with internal teams and suppliers slow and resource-intensive. SAP was selected to help address these planning challenges with SAP Integrated Business Planning for demand.
SAP implemented SAP IBP for demand to centralize data, improve collaboration, and create a unified omnichannel planning process. The results included 90% of retail volume integrated into one system, a 42% reduction in IBP hours, and a 3.6% improvement in forecasting accuracy (wMAPE), giving Walmart Mexico greater visibility, faster planning, and better decision-making.
