Reshaping The Future of Automotive Distribution

Inchcape plc, the world’s largest independent global automotive distributor, needed to modernize and standardize a fragmented global IT landscape created by rapid growth and acquisitions. Its import, sales, aftersales, warranty, inventory, procurement, and finance processes were spread across disparate ERP and legacy systems, and only a small portion of its 40+ markets were on target global templates. Inchcape turned to SAP and used RISE with SAP to support its digital transformation.

SAP implemented RISE with SAP to standardize Inchcape’s SAP ERP instances, migrate to SAP HANA, and create a more consistent global foundation for operations and growth. The results included reducing database size by as much as 80% and cutting average dialog response times by 58% in Europe and 45% in Asia-Pacific, while also improving efficiency, compliance, and employee experience. SAP also helped set Inchcape up for future expansion, including SAP Business Technology Platform and a potential move to SAP S/4HANA.
