Case Study: Matsumoto Precision achieves smarter sustainable manufacturing with SAP

A SAP Case Study

Preview of the Matsumoto Case Study

Pioneering smart and sustainable manufacturing with data-driven carbon tracking

Matsumoto Precision Co. Ltd., a Japanese industrial manufacturer, faced pressure to improve sustainability, profitability, and competitiveness while lacking product-level carbon emissions data and accurate cost visibility. To address these challenges, Matsumoto turned to SAP, using SAP S/4HANA and SAP Sustainability Footprint Management to support its digital and green transformation.

With SAP, Matsumoto implemented real-time tracking of costs and CO₂ emissions across the value chain, supported by Accenture. The results included a 30% productivity increase, a 3% improvement in operating profit margin, and a reduction of 400 tons of CO₂ emissions annually, while also improving supply chain transparency and enabling more informed decision-making.
