Ostertag DeTeWe, a German system house for cloud-based and on-premise ICT solutions and system integration, needed a better way to predict opportunity success and plan sales more reliably. Before working with SAP, the company relied mainly on personal experience and opportunity life-cycle data, while many employees with different levels of experience were managing ongoing opportunities.
SAP, together with PTG Consulting AG, implemented SAP Business ByDesign with Machine Learning to add a data-driven prediction layer to Opportunity Management. The result was faster employee enablement through intuitive use, better planning quality, and improved focus on cases where sales rep and machine learning predictions differ; SAP also supported additional use cases such as Payment Delay, with more use cases planned.
