A SAP Case Study
Osaka Metro, the rail operator formed after the privatization of the Osaka Municipal Subway, needed to replace an aging SAP ERP (ECC 6.0) accounting system that suffered from poor reporting, weak budget-to-results management, and too much department-specific Excel work. The company turned to SAP S/4HANA® Cloud Private Edition, with SAP Services and Support, to redesign its core accounting platform and streamline its workflows.
SAP helped Osaka Metro complete the new system in just one year, using workshops, demos, and dress rehearsals to validate processes and reduce rework. By revising workflows and relying more on standard SAP functions, Osaka Metro eliminated 80% of its add-ons, lowered maintenance complexity, and created a stronger platform for more accurate business management.
