Norsk Hydro, the global mining and metals company based in Oslo, needed to become a skills-based organization but lacked structured skills intelligence to support workforce planning, reskilling, and internal mobility. Working with SAP and TalenTeam, it set out to better align employee capabilities with business and sustainability goals using SAP SuccessFactors Talent Intelligence Hub.
SAP helped Norsk Hydro implement an AI-powered skills framework that curated a skills library, mapped skills to 3,500 roles and job families, and automatically tagged learning content. Delivered in just 12 weeks and used by 9,000 end users, the solution improved data accuracy, reduced manual effort, strengthened talent mobility, and created a foundation for more agile, future-ready workforce planning.
