A SAP Case Study
MegaFon, a major Russian telecommunications and retail provider, faced the challenge of evolving its business for the digital economy. The company needed to simplify, automate, and optimize its retail processes to improve stock and service levels. To achieve this, it partnered with vendor SAP to leverage a digital transformation program, planning to use applications like SAP Customer Activity Repository, SAP Forecasting and Replenishment for Retail, and SAP Promotion Management for Retail.
As part of its SAP MaxAttention engagement, the SAP solution involved establishing an on-site SAP Innovation Control Center for direct access to experts. This enabled a successful big-bang implementation across all 2,000 stores in just one year. The results included lower implementation costs, reduced project risk, and a lower total cost of ownership. MegaFon gained a highly advanced retail IT system with transparent forecasting and complete visibility into key business performance indicators.
