Medical Procurement of Ukraine Safeguarding essential supply chains in a time of full-scale war

Medical Procurement of Ukraine faced the urgent challenge of keeping medical supply chains running during Russia’s full-scale invasion, while rapidly securing medicines and critical medical equipment in an unstable environment. To respond, the organization turned to SAP Ariba solutions and SAP Business Network for Procurement to build a cloud-based procurement system with end-to-end functionality.

Working with SAP and Enkidu, Medical Procurement of Ukraine launched the first phase of the system in just weeks, quickly enabling catalog downloads, user access controls, and support for the national medical goods catalog. Using SAP’s guided buying capabilities, it purchased €2.5 million of critical medical machinery and wound kits in the first two weeks, then expanded into supplier management, sourcing, and contract tools—smoothly moving hundreds of suppliers and processes online and running the first auctions for medical supplies and evacuation vehicles within six months of the war’s start.
