A SAP Case Study
McLaren, a UK-based automotive and technology company, faced significant challenges due to its legacy IT infrastructure, which was unreliable and limited its ability to rapidly analyze vast amounts of data, particularly from its Formula One racing operations. This slow data processing hindered real-time decision-making and the company's overall speed to market. To address these issues, McLaren turned to its longtime partner, SAP, seeking a solution built on the SAP HANA platform.
SAP implemented a solution centered on the SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud service, which provided McLaren with a resilient and high-performance cloud platform for its SAP Business Suite. This move greatly reduced IT administrative burdens and improved system reliability. The implementation allowed McLaren to analyze historical racing data in a fraction of a second to inform race strategy and combined it with SAP SuccessFactors for improved recruiting. As a result, McLaren gained a significant competitive edge through faster application delivery, simplified operations, and the ability to make critical, data-driven decisions instantly.
