Leveraging AI to successfully master the requirements of the CSRD and the ESRS

PwC Germany faced a complex, time-consuming ESG reporting challenge under the CSRD and ESRS, with more than 80 disclosure requirements and over 1,000 data points to interpret, collect, and calculate manually. In partnership with SAP, PwC used the CSRD.AI Manager and SAP technologies to address fragmented data sources, reduce errors, and improve compliance efficiency.

SAP implemented an AI-driven solution built on SAP Datasphere, SAP BTP, SAP Build Apps, SAP Analytics Cloud, SAP AI Core, and SAP HANA Cloud Vector Engine to automate data collection, KPI calculations, and report generation. The result was faster processing, improved accuracy, audit-ready reporting, and reduced manual effort, supporting around 1,000 users and about 7,500 user interactions per month per user.
