KUREHA CORPORATION, a Japan-based chemical company, needed to renew its SAP ERP environment without disrupting operations while preserving 20 years of historical data and supporting a phased, company-code-based migration. To meet this challenge, KUREHA worked with SAP and chose SAP S/4HANA as its future-ready core business foundation.

SAP’s Data Management and Landscape Transformation team implemented the selective data transition service for SAP S/4HANA, handling historical and archived data migration plus multiple code conversions across finance, materials, and profit centers. The first transition moved business data in about 16 hours, and overall SAP helped migrate 20 years of history, including 1,112 standard tables, 322 add-on tables, and 5,206 archive sessions, enabling KUREHA to continue business with minimal disruption and prepare to retire its legacy ERP.
