KPMG, a leading audit, tax, and advisory firm in Germany, faced the challenge of completing the CSRD Double Materiality Assessment and ESRS reporting amid more than 1,000 data points, fragmented manual processes, and complex documentation needs. To address this, KPMG used the SAP-based KPMG Double Materiality Navigator, built on SAP BTP and connected to SAP Sustainability Control Tower, to standardize workflows and support compliance.

SAP delivered an integrated, step-by-step ESG reporting solution with structured templates, audit-trail transparency, reusable assessments, and optional AI support for ESRS questions and validation. The result was a more efficient, accurate, and audit-ready process that reduced manual effort, eliminated the need for third-party tools and Excel templates, and enabled setup in less than one day for the live proof of concept with around 25 end users.
