Case Study: Sansibar achieves omnichannel retail growth and better customer visibility with SAP

A SAP Case Study

Preview of the Sansibar Case Study

Integrating IT to Grow from Family Business to Next-Generation Omnichannel Retailer

Sansibar, the Sylt-based food, wine, fashion, and hospitality retailer, wanted a holistic view of customers and better control across its growing omnichannel business. To compete with larger retailers and improve fulfillment, it needed to modernize its IT landscape from supply chain and finance through the customer experience. SAP, together with partner KPS AG, was selected to support this transformation with SAP S/4HANA, SAP S/4HANA Retail, SAP Analytics Cloud, and SAP Customer Experience solutions.

SAP implemented a connected retail and hospitality platform that unified operations, standardized finance and logistics, and improved analytics and customer engagement. The results included 70% fewer out-of-stock situations, 40%–50% faster customer order execution, 65% better revenue and cost visibility, and 50% lower operational complexity. Sansibar also reported higher customer satisfaction, reduced churn, and more efficient onboarding for new staff.
