A SAP Case Study
Vitra, the Switzerland-based design firm known for furniture and workspace solutions, needed to modernize a highly customized legacy IT environment that had grown to more than two million lines of code over 27 years. To simplify its ERP landscape and reduce its data footprint, Vitra turned to SAP and SAP S/4HANA, with support from SAP Services and Support for a complex migration.
SAP implemented a selective data transition approach, helping Vitra retain key legacy enhancements while cleansing, filtering, and transforming data during the move to SAP S/4HANA. The migration was completed in 16 months with no major business disruption, cutover took just four days, database footprint fell by 72%, monthly account closing became 15% faster, and data quality reached 100%.
