The San Jose Sharks, owned by Sharks Sports & Entertainment, needed a faster way to turn game-day and venue data into actionable insights instead of relying on postevent reports. Working with SAP and solutions including SAP Business Technology Platform, SAP Integration Suite, SAP Datasphere, and SAP Analytics Cloud, the team wanted a single source of truth across ticketing, parking, food and beverage, retail, and other operations.
SAP implemented a real-time analytics environment that consolidated data from multiple sources into intuitive dashboards for operations staff. As a result, the San Jose Sharks gained better visibility across the organization, reduced manual reporting, and became more proactive in addressing issues; the venue also cut operational reporting turnaround time by 12 hours and added 10 third-party data sources to the roadmap.
