Team Liquid, a world-renowned professional esports organization, needed a better way to scout junior League of Legends talent from a global pool of roughly 65,000 promising players. Its old approach relied on personal contacts and player recommendations, making talent identification inefficient and time-consuming. Team Liquid turned to SAP, using SAP HANA Cloud and SAP Business Technology Platform to create a digital solution for data-driven scouting.

With SAP, Team Liquid built an intelligent data app that analyzes match data in real time and automatically loads training and solo matches into the SAP HANA Cloud data lake. The solution stored 2 TB of match data and made 15 million training matches available for scouting, helping Team Liquid instantly identify top amateur players and test new tactics earlier.
