Clariant, the Switzerland-based specialty chemicals company, wanted to improve its variable pay process after implementing a modern cloud HXM solution. With employees frequently moving between departments and multiple bonus plans in place, Clariant needed help from SAP to reduce manual work and make compensation calculations more accurate using SAP SuccessFactors Compensation and SAP Preferred Success.

SAP reconfigured the variable pay setup so bonuses could be calculated automatically based on department changes and time spent in each role. The solution automated incentive awards for 700 people, eliminated manual calculations and human error, and helped ensure employees were rewarded correctly while optimizing compensation management.
