Sappi, a global mill products company based in Johannesburg, needed to bring newly acquired paper mills onto the same SAP ERP environment used across the rest of the group. The company wanted to reduce IT complexity, integrate processes across operations, and move to a unified ERP platform with SAP S/4HANA.
SAP supported Sappi with SAP S/4HANA, including a selective data transition approach and SAP Legacy System Migration Workbench, to consolidate systems and guide the migration. As a result, Sappi reduced IT costs, improved efficiency and visibility with real-time information, and gained a scalable infrastructure to support growth, with one unified ERP platform serving enterprise-wide operations.
