smart Europe GmbH wanted to reinvent direct-to-consumer automotive sales and prepare for the mobility era by breaking down siloed product, transaction, and real-time vehicle data. The company needed a centralized view of vehicles and customer journeys to support new digital sales models and future business use cases, and it turned to SAP for help.
SAP implemented a new digital platform using SAP S/4HANA Cloud Private Edition, SAP Vehicle Management System, SAP Customer Data Cloud, SAP Commerce Cloud, and SAP Digital Vehicle Hub. The solution created a unified omnichannel experience and a digital twin for vehicles, helping smart scale innovative use cases and laying the foundation for a full D2C rollout in 2025, with a target of managing about 280,000 vehicles on the platform.
