A SAP Case Study
KOPGT (Kalangala Oil Palm Growers Trust) needed a more reliable way to manage sourcing and traceability as more smallholder farmers joined its oil palm program. Its manual processes had limited transparency, created trust issues, and made it harder to comply with Uganda’s NEMA guidelines, so KOPGT turned to SAP Business One and SAP Rural Sourcing Management.
SAP integrated SAP Rural Sourcing Management with SAP Business One to combine business, geospatial, and transactional data into one system. The result was improved transparency and trust, digitally recorded plantings for NEMA compliance, better garden mapping and production monitoring, and data-driven insights that helped KOPGT support farmers more effectively; the organization also achieved 100% unified reporting for management and stakeholders.
