Preh, a German automotive supplier of interior vehicle control systems, needed a faster and more accurate way to handle product costing. Its existing process relied on manual data entry and multiple spreadsheets across projects, making it time-consuming to build competitive quotes for high-value contracts. Preh used SAP Product Lifecycle Costing along with SAP ERP and SAP Fiori to address these challenges.

SAP implemented a standardized costing foundation with tight ERP integration, enabling twice-daily material price updates and an SAP Fiori app to maintain prices from supplier quotes. SAP also supported detailed cost-driver reporting and system integration. As a result, Preh improved cost transparency and costing accuracy, gained better insight into cost drivers, and reduced the time purchasing staff spent on cost calculations, freeing them for more strategic work.
