A SAP Case Study
OeNB, Austria’s central bank, needed to strengthen GDPR compliance for employee data stored in its HR system while reducing the manual effort involved in identifying and removing data subject to retention rules. The bank also wanted to improve data quality and accuracy as part of the project, and turned to SAP, including SAP MaxAttention services and SAP Information Lifecycle Management, for support.
SAP implemented an automated GDPR-compliant deletion framework that regularly removes employee data according to predefined retention policies. As a result, OeNB strengthened data protection compliance, enabled controlled data destruction within legal parameters, and expects a 20% reduction in employee data volume, while also preparing to extend SAP Information Lifecycle Management for SAP S/4HANA to other compliance areas.
