NEC, a global high-tech leader in IT and electronics, needed to modernize its legacy ERP landscape to support data-driven processes, simplify business data, and build a central intelligent ERP platform. To do this, NEC worked with SAP to migrate three SAP ERP instances to SAP S/4HANA, with support focused on finance, cash management, logistics, and other core business areas.
SAP implemented SAP S/4HANA alongside SAP Value Assurance and services from Data Management and Landscape Transformation to guide the conversion, validate data, and minimize disruption. The project was completed in just one year, saved 2 TB of data migration effort, and reduced downtime to 84 hours total, down from 6 days, helping NEC launch smoothly and accelerate its enterprise-wide digital transformation.
