KUKA AG, a global leader in robotics and production automation, needed a way to offer flexible, outcome-based subscription models that could adapt to customer demand while integrating with existing business, service, and finance processes. To pilot this new commercial model, KUKA partnered with SAP and used SAP Subscription Billing along with SAP S/4HANA Cloud, public edition.
SAP implemented a scalable solution that streamlined subscription product design, selling, billing, payment, and lifecycle management, while also connecting live robot usage data to operational and finance processes. As a result, KUKA gained flexible subscription management, better visibility into profitability, and a foundation to scale outcome-based offerings across the business, with savings of up to 7% for suppliers and up to 9% for customers.
