How Did a Small Company Champion Big Data and Redefine Fan Engagement

EquiRatings Limited, a provider of technology and data science for equestrian sports, faced a major challenge when COVID-19 halted competitions and made it harder for brands and events to connect with global fans. To keep audiences engaged, the company turned to SAP Analytics Cloud as part of SAP Business Technology Platform to build new digital experiences based on predictive analytics.

SAP helped EquiRatings create the Eventing Manager app, which delivered fantasy sports–style simulations and fan engagement during live events and the off-season. The solution reached 60,000 fans across 55 countries at flagship events, and 8,500 fans in 100 countries downloaded the app, contributing to EquiRatings winning an SAP Innovation Award in the Partner Paragon category.
