A SAP Case Study
Medtronic, a global leader in medical technology, was looking to accelerate the availability of its healthcare innovations by improving its software testing environment. Their challenge was to shorten time to market, reduce costs, and shift defect detection earlier into the development lifecycle to make developers more responsible for finding and fixing issues.
To address this, SAP implemented an expanded use of its SAP Quality Center and SAP LoadRunner applications by Micro Focus. This solution automated testing processes and integrated defect management into development. The results were significant: defect detection during design rose from 5% to 50%, defect leakage in production dropped to under 5%, and test automation increased from 10% to 35%, allowing new medical solutions to reach patients faster.
