A SAP Case Study
Brighthouse Financial, a U.S. insurance provider serving more than two million customers, wanted to become a more nimble, transparent organization after spinning off from MetLife. To do that, it needed to move its ERP system to the cloud, improve efficiency and compliance, and support the rollout of new insurance accounting requirements. It chose SAP, including SAP BPC, to help address these challenges.
SAP implemented a cloud ERP approach that gave Brighthouse Financial real-time access to a single source of data and a stronger foundation for reporting and control. The result was lower system maintenance costs, three full-time reconciliation staff freed for higher-value work, and faster adoption of major GAAP reforms. Brighthouse also reduced historical ledger accounts by 92%, administrative systems by 93%, and reports by 90%.
