Ballance Agri-Nutrients, a New Zealand farmer-owned co-operative, wanted to refresh its customer experience and improve engagement so it could help farmers make better, more timely management decisions. Its existing environment was costly to maintain, limited access to modern tools, and made integrations with third-party systems increasingly complex; the company turned to SAP, using SAP S/4HANA Cloud and SAP Commerce Cloud as part of a multiyear cloud program.

Working with SAP and AWS, Ballance implemented a new cloud foundation and moved quickly to go live before peak season, improving agility and scalability. SAP helped Ballance boost performance and reliability, cut operating costs by 20%, reduce hardware and upgrade management workload by 70%, lower resourcing needs by 10%, and achieve 99.9% availability in its nonproduction core SAP environment.
