A SAP Case Study
HPCL Mittal Energy Limited (HMEL), an oil and gas company, relied on various refinery applications that needed to be integrated to streamline its processes. The company's challenge was to undertake a next-level integration of its manufacturing execution systems, SAP software, and control systems by replacing its existing IBM integration tool. To address this, they turned to vendor SAP.
SAP implemented its Manufacturing Integration and Intelligence (SAP MII) application as the new integration platform. This solution integrated over 13 applications, enabling real-time role-based dashboards and dynamic reporting. For HMEL, the results included a $200,000 reduction in IT maintenance costs, over $100,000 gained from increased productivity, and the integration of more than 250 parameters for better, near-real-time decision making.
