Daimler Trucks North America faced slow, manual bidding in its Aftermarket Parts business, with margin analysis and deal-desk work largely handled in Excel and siloed data. Working with SAP, the company used SAP Analytics Cloud and SAP HANA to improve real-time analytics, pricing accuracy, and bid responsiveness.
SAP’s solution automated margin calculations, standardized bid creation, and added AI-based fuzzy search plus a user-friendly SAP UI5 interface. The results were significant: bid turnaround dropped from 5 weeks to 5 days, bid submissions quadrupled year over year, sales volume in Aftermarket Sales grew 10-fold, and part-number identification accuracy reached 96%.
