HARTING, a global leader in connectivity solutions, needed a reliable way to calculate carbon emissions across thousands of production materials while meeting growing customer, supplier, and regulatory sustainability expectations. Using SAP Sustainability Footprint Management, HARTING also wanted to leverage its existing SAP ERP landscape and support its carbon-neutral-by-2030 goal.

SAP implemented SAP Sustainability Footprint Management and SAP Responsible Design and Production to automate emissions calculations and data collection at scale. The solution enabled CO2 emission calculations for 13,000 materials, delivered granular and verifiable footprint data, supported HARTING’s GreenLine label, and helped prepare for EU reporting requirements such as the CSRD and Digital Product Passport.
