Glencore, one of the world’s largest diversified natural resource companies, needed to further digitalize its global operations to help reduce its carbon footprint. With complex mining, trading, and marketing activities across more than 35 countries, Glencore turned to SAP, using SAP S/4HANA and SAP Integration Suite to connect SAP and third-party systems and support end-to-end business and business-to-government processes.

SAP implemented prepacked integration content and cloud integration capabilities to speed deployment and improve security, while also using tools for interface management and test automation. The result was the integration of 20 third-party systems worldwide and the successful testing of more than 300 inbound interface scenarios from over 20 source systems in just four weeks, helping lower long-term total cost of ownership and staff effort.
