Glencore, a major mining company in Australia, was struggling with slow, manual processes for managing environmental alarms and community complaints. The paper-based workflow caused delays, human error, double handling, and compliance risks, especially when supervisors and the E&C team needed to respond quickly across multiple mine sites.

SAP helped Glencore implement EARS, an Environmental Alarm Response System built on SAP BTP with iOS and SAP Fiori applications, SAP HANA Cloud, and SAP Mobile Services. The solution unified sensor data, alerts, complaints, and response records into one integrated platform, reducing complaint response time by 75% and cutting individual response time from about 20 minutes to around 5 minutes, while improving accuracy and compliance.
